One of the first things that we usually do during the consultation when we first begin is I take measurements, and I usually do some measurements that go from either your clavicle down to where your nipple is or from the middle part right here which is the sternal notch down to where your nipple is. And there’s certain sort of averages after looking at thousands of women that we sort of get this average. Most women usually fall between 18-and-a-half centimeters to 19 to about 22 as far as being in the natural area. Once a nipple starts to sort of either get level or sort of fall a little bit, at the level of the infamammary fold or a little bit lower than that, we start to experience a little bit of what is called tosis. Tosis is just a fancy word for, really, the skin envelope starting to droop a little bit, the ligaments are starting to stretch a little bit, and the nipple is starting to droop. When that happens, we really need to consider doing some sort of lifting procedure if you’re also considering doing an augmentation procedure at the same time.

Also, when our breasts begin to droop a little bit either after children or when we lose elasticity in our skin, we usually lose a lot of what is called upper pole. Now, what we mean by that is the area that goes above the nipple. That’s the upper pole of your breast. That usually tends to get hollow, and that’s the one thing that implants can really help with is that we could fill that area up again. And we also have the ability, at the same time, to do a nipple repositioning to put the nipple at a higher position to where it was maybe when we were 20-years old or before we had children, before the skin started to stretch. And women really, really appreciate that.

I do two types of nipple repositioning surgeries. When I do just regular augmentation surgeries, you’re gonna get a little bit of nipple elevation just from the augmentation alone. But sometimes it’s not quite enough. The augmentation will really just push the breast out and really make it larger in all dimensions, but it doesn’t really rotate it all that much. So, in order to help that out, I do two types. One type is a lollipop mastipexy. That’s where I need to do the largest amount of nipple movement where we move the nipple upwards but then you end up with a scar that goes around the nipple as well as down the middle. Okay? And usually, that’s most common procedure I do for nipple repositioning.

The second most common repositioning is if you only need about two centimeters, maybe two-and-a-half to three centimeters in terms of where your nipple sort of fell, if we’re doing an augmentation with that, the thing that’s great about this procedure is that I take a little bit of skin on top of the nipple, and I just elevate the nipple a little bit to a new position, but then, that combined with doing an implant, I’m really able to give you as close to a traditional lift without 90% of the scarring, because there’s no scar that goes all the way around the nipple or down. It’s just simply on the very top of the nipple. Sort of like a crescent. I call it the Crescent Lift, and I’m able to reposition the nipple to a higher position, as well as put an implant in, which then will help rotate it even more. And most women do really, really well with that, and that really helps solve the problem.

I was interested in doing a breast augmentation when I was 18 years old. Like, getting out of high school. Everybody else was developed except for me. And, like, almost everyone was doing it, also. So I told my mom about it and she told me that I should wait, like, maybe I’m going to take a little longer to develop. So — but I was still looking up doctors, especially here since I live closer, it would be more convenient. But I also started looking in Miami, Tampa. My dad suggested California because of that show Doctor 90210, like that was — supposedly they’re really good surgeons. And years went by, I focused more on school and then now at 23, I came across Doctor Sessa’s website and I saw his pictures and it looked like he did really good work. I read his bio and I was — also saw that he did ABC news like interviews on ABC news and I just thought that that was really — he had really good credentials, so I made a phone call. They told me to come in to do a free consultation and that’s how it started.

I picked Doctor Sessa, at first because I saw him in the internet and like I said, I read his bio and he had pictures, like he had so much information on the web site and I think that’s really important when you have a web site relating to plastic surgery, there’s so many women and men looking for a doctor. And if, you know, I guess they can’t go around from doctor to doctor all the time and the internet’s a good way to look up and see, you know, what doctor would be good for you. And I felt like he had really good information on there. When I came in for the consultation, right away he made me feel really comfortable. He was, like, really warm. Like he introduced himself to me and to my mother. He spoke to both of us. He was looking at me in the eye, like he talked about every single topic. I just felt like he knew exactly what he was doing and that he could give me exactly what I was looking for. …

Before and After Breast Augmentation - Sarasota FL

I think that there’s a real art to doing good breast augmentation. I think if you start with a good eye for symmetry and a real love for a woman’s body and her natural curves, I think that you could be very, very good at breast augmentation. I really love doing breast augmentations for that reason. I’m very detail oriented, and I’m very, very meticulous in making sure that all the curves are proper, that when I’m taking measurements before the surgery, that I know that I’ve chosen the right implant for you, that we’re not choosing implants that are too big, that are going to really fit your figure.

You know, I always take measurements during our consultation. And the reason why I do that is because I truly believe that there are implants that are too small for people and implants that are just too big for people. And one of the most common questions I have is, Doc, I want to look natural, and I want to look natural in appearance. That really helps me pick an implant size. But the biggest thing about me and my patient is that you’re actually the one choosing your implant. When patients come to my office, you’ll be able to try on implants, and we’ll make a decision together. After taking measurements of your anatomy, we’ll come to a conclusion and say, okay, if you want a natural-appearing breast augmentation, these are the implants that we should choose from. And once we do that, we can look at their shape, look at their hips, how wide their chest is. All of those things I take into account because they are all very, very important. It’s not just that I love doing these things, it’s that I love making the puzzle sort of all fit together.

That’s what gives me the greatest satisfaction is seeing somebody afterwards and knowing that we’ve chosen the perfect implant for you and that my patient says– one of the biggest complaints with breast augmentation is that, Doc, you know, I wish I went bigger. And very few of my patients say that because they are the ones choosing their own implants. And not only that, they get to sort of put them on, strut them around. I even let them take the implants home for the night if they want to show their boyfriend or husband or whatever the case may be. Their partner. But you know, in choosing the implant for themselves, they’re able to come to the conclusion that, you know what? This is going to look great on me, and that really helps me. Because, yes, there’s a big artistic part of this and knowing a woman’s curves and knowing how wide her hips are, how wide her chest is. Are these implants going to fit? Are they going to look too wide? Are they going to look too close? You know, all of these things are very, very important. There’s a lot to seeing a perfect breast augmentation. There’s a lot to it. It’s not just you take an implant and put it into the position. There’s a lot of symmetry involved. If the doctor does not have a good eye for symmetry, then you’re not going to be able to get a good result, and I pride myself on knowing that I have a great sense of symmetry and a sense of balance.

I Feel Better About Myself After My Breast Surgery – Sarasota FL

After breast feeding, I just felt really insecure. Like I said, I wouldn’t go to the beach. I wouldn’t wear hardly– I would wear, everything would be to my neck. I wouldn’t wear any low cut tops. Nothing. I felt like a 12-year old, you know? I felt like I had nothing. I have a 16-year-old sister, and I think she was more of a woman than I was. I just felt so not womanly. Even after having a baby, you know? It was just really upsetting. Depressing.

I went online. I didn’t look at anybody in Port Charlotte just because I didn’t want to go anywhere in Port Charlotte. I looked up Sarasota and Fort Myers. First, I did the research as far as pros and cons of breast implants. I looked up photographs of them. I looked up what the procedure was like and the recovery time because of my son. I knew I’d have to have somebody to watch him. I looked up all that stuff first, as far as what it would be like. I listened to other testimonials online. I just did a lot of research about the whole procedure and the recovery, and then I looked into doctors. I looked up Sarasota. I had two consultations in Sarasota, and Doctor Sessa was my first one; it was for the same day. I came to Doctor Sessa, and I brought my mom with me. We just liked him from the first time we talked to him.

He was comforting. He was professional. You just felt very comfortable in front of him, and my mom said the same thing. So, I decided to just cancel my other appointment. I went outside, and I just cancelled right here. I talked to my dad. I called him from the office, and I talked to my mom about it, and we just booked the surgery that day. We didn’t even go home and talk about it. We just booked it right there and then. I just knew that he was the one that I wanted to do it. He was comforting, he was awesome, so I just did it.

I went to the beach about a week after my surgery. I go out now with my friends. I ask them to go out. I love going out. I bought new clothes. I have more confidence in myself now, a lot more confidence than I had before as far as going anywhere. I just like to go out. I like to wear whatever now. I can carry whatever I want and feel comfortable in it. That was one of the main things: as long as I feel comfortable. I have a boyfriend. So with him, I feel a lot better as well. I just feel like maybe he looks at me more now than anybody else, which I didn’t before. I just love it.

I would recommend Doctor Sessa to anybody. Anybody who asks me about my surgery, anyone who’s interested in asking me about it, I would recommend him. I think he’s a great man. He’s a great surgeon. I’m very happy with my results. I’m more comfortable about myself. I feel so much better about myself because of him. Anybody who’s asked me, my friends have asked me, I’ve recommended him. They’ve gone to his website already. He’s just a great man. I mean, he makes you feel so comfortable with yourself. Even before your surgery, he makes you feel comfortable, which is what I think you need even in order to, you know, have a consultation. You want someone that’s going to make you feel comfortable with yourself, and he does.

Yep. I would definitely recommend him to anybody!

Look at the Results of My Cosmetic Surgery – My Breast Augmentation Looks So Real!

I’m originally from upstate New York and from an area where we wear lots of clothing and layers because it’s very cold probably eight months out of the year. But in that time when I was living in upstate New York, I was always a little self-conscious about my chest and that it was small. But because we weren’t exposing yourself many months out of the year, it was something that I could easily avoid. Two years ago, I moved to Sarasota, Florida, and I’m boating all the time, wearing bikinis, and on the beach, and it’s a much more fun lifestyle. But I was always self-conscious in going out with friends and going to clubs and going to the beach because of my chest size is always so much smaller, and I’m constantly looking around and comparing myself to the other girls.

So, since moving to Florida, I was really self-conscious about my chest size and had given a lot of thought to breast augmentation. And about maybe six months ago, I started researching the other surgeons in the area. I wanted to stay local in Sarasota and have my procedure done in the city because I didn’t want to have to travel all the way to Tampa or to the east coast of Florida if any complications arose. I wanted to make sure I was home in my comfort zone.

And then I did a lot of research on the internet and came across Doctor Sessa and had a consultation with him and Chris. That consultation lasted probably close to two hours, and they really made me feel extremely comfortable in my decision, and they spent a long time just trying to figure out what size that I should be. And I think that is every girl’s biggest concern; they don’t want to be too big, they don’t want to be too small because what was the point of the surgery? That was always my biggest stress. And I had visited approximately four other offices and no doctor’s office had ever given me that much time in an initial consultation. No one had worked with me at length that Doctor Sessa had over the size and the procedure and all my questions and concerns. I felt extremely comfortable working with him and his staff. And it was a very easy decision to make at that point. I was comfortable in who I was working with and I think I signed up for the surgery two weeks after that initial consultation. I was that comfortable with his office.

What I also liked the most about Doctor Sessa’s office was that the surgery would occur right here at the office. They have their own operation room. And I did not like the fact of going to a hospital to have the procedure done. That made me really nervous. I had never had any operations previous. So, I really liked the fact that you’re in a small surgery center, right here in the office.

I had my surgery November 2nd in the morning, and I had never had surgery before, so I was extremely nervous about the feelings I would be going through and the whole experience. Never been under anesthesia before. I just never had been that vulnerable in my life, so I was very nervous going into the surgery. But as soon as I came to the office and I sat down with the anesthesiologist and the other nurses, I was put at ease immediately. They’re just such wonderful people. I still think about my experience having the surgery and the nurses, I’m just always touched by how kind and compassionate they were to me through the whole experience.

There are Different Types of Breast Surgery – Saline or Silicone? Ask Dr Sessa in Sarasota FL.

Most of my patients come in, and one of their biggest questions is should I have saline? Should I have silicone? However, with the age of the internet, most women that are looking at getting breast implants already have read about it. They understand the pros and the cons of silicone versus saline. A lot of my patients choose saline, number one, because financially, it’s cheaper. But number two, because they like the fact that it’s filled with saltwater. This is an example of one of these implants, and you could see that you’re not gonna have all bubbles inside of it. These implants are devoid of bubbles when they’re filled, so you’re not going to hear, like I just drank a big glass of water, and you’re going to hear blub, blub, blub in your stomach. You’re not going to hear that. But saline is still very, very natural, and I tell my patients it’s a great choice.

Whether you’re looking at saline versus silicone, saline is still an excellent choice, and it’s very, very safe. The way that I place my implants, I usually place them underneath the muscle. And the one thing that we do have to watch out for, though, and very, very thin people, sometimes you can see the outline of these implants. And we really want to try to avoid that. So, one of the things that we could do to protect that and protect against things like rippling, like here, you could barely see some rippling here on the sides. We want to avoid that, because that really tells everybody, these are fake. We want– I pride myself in doing very natural-appearing implants, and most of my patients come to me because of that. Because they say, Doctor Sessa, your patients look really natural. One of the things that I really abide by is, you really have to overfill these implants slightly.

So, let’s say you’re looking at a 375cc implant that you tried on that you really like the look of. So, more than likely, we’ll probably fit you with like a 330cc implant. And then we overfill it, so if we give you a 330cc implant, and let’s say you look at this implant, it’s sort of flacid a little bit. What we want to do is to make sure that we don’t have any of these ripples. We overfill it, so if we push it out a little bit and overfill it, you could see that those ripples just disappear. And that’s what we really want to do. We
want to overfill it a little bit, stretch the casing of the implant a little bit. This way, those ripples will just disappear, and it will be nice and smooth at the edge.

Saline initially, may feel slightly more tense than silicone. But as time goes on and the skin stretches and acclimates to the new size, it feels very, very natural. And most of my patients, they love it.

How Do I Choose Breast Implant Size? Let Sarasota Surgical Arts Give You a Free Consultation – Sarasota FL

One of the first things that happens when you come in for your consultation is, I take measurements, because everyone is different. And the implants that you’re gonna choose, this isn’t one size fits all. There’s varying different sizes of implants. Different shapes in both width and height, projection, there’s lots of different things that really work, and that’s sort of the art in choosing an implant. There’s not just, I want larger breasts, so you come on in, and we you know put in the generic implant.

So, the first thing that we do is, I take measurements. Of course, we go over your history, make sure that you’re healthy for this procedure. I usually make the recommendation of getting a mammogram if you’ve never had one. It’s just a good rule of thumb in terms of getting implants and moving forward. But once we get past all those small little hurdles, and we take the measurements, one of the greatest things that I do is, I take measurements of your width. The width of your breast.

Now, everyone’s breast width is different, and that’s why there are different sizes. So, once I take measurements of where your nipple is situated and the width of your breast, once I do those two things, then I will make some sort of general recommendations. I’ll ask you what size you are now, what cup size you are now and what cup size would you like to go to. You want to look busty or do you want to look natural? Are you athletic? There’s lots of different things and reasons behind choosing an implant. It’s not just, I want to be larger. Because you will be larger. A breast implant will make your whole breast larger in all dimensions. But most women nowadays want to look natural. And there’s a lot of choices to be had.

This is an example of a 300cc implant. Okay. This is a high-profile implant. There’s different types of implants that are, it’s very important to choose. I particularly like the high-profile implant because if you look at it from the side, you could see that it’s sort of cone shaped. And this is gonna give you the most amount of projection with the smallest implant. And here’s another example. This is a 375cc high profile implant, and this implant, if you put these side by side, you could see that the projection isn’t gonna be very different. However, this 375cc implant is slightly wider. Then we have another type of implant, this is, again, this is 375. And these are the pair of implants.

Breast Augmentation – My Recovery Was Really Good! Sarasota FL

As soon as I met Doctor Sessa, I knew I wanted him to do my surgery. I felt very comfortable in front of him, which is not easy for me to feel comfortable in front of somebody like that, but I did. He made me feel comfortable. His whole staff made me feel comfortable. He was very caring. I wasn’t nervous in front of him. He made me sure that I wanted to get the procedure done. Once I met him, I knew I was going to book my surgery with him. I knew I was going to get it done.

He gave me my confidence back. Even after the procedure, even if I had a question, I knew I could call him, and he’d be here. I mean, I called one Saturday, and he was here to answer my question, which was great. Because you know, after the procedure, if you’re nervous about something or you don’t feel like something’s right, he was there, and he answered it, and he made me feel better. He’s just an awesome man. He was an awesome surgeon. He gave me back everything I wanted, and he made me feel comfortable. He was just awesome.

The recovery after my breast augmentation was actually really good. They told me to expect them, my breasts, to be really high. Don’t be scared if they are swollen. They said, it’s not– the results are not going to be what they’re going to be in a couple weeks, they said, so don’t be freaked out. Don’t get upset.

I had an Ace bandage on which I wore and which I had to come back the next day to get removed, as well as a sports bra. I had to keep the sports bra on for two weeks, and they told me that they would still be swollen even after two weeks. And of course, they’re going to sit up high, so they’re not going to be exactly what you expect them to be. But I loved them right from the day after. I was happy with them. Just because, you know, I had them. So, I was just happy.

I came back the next day. I got my Ace bandage off, and he took a look at them. And I was expecting a lot more pain. I felt, um, really tight. That basically was my pain, just a lot of tightness. Heaviness on my chest was another thing, but it all went away within 3 days. I was back to normal. I came back maybe a week later, and she told me that everything was going well. I was in no more pain. I still felt a little tight, which she said you’ll still feel for a while because they did have to stretch out the skin. He said that’s totally normal. Other than that, my recovery was really good. I hardly had any pain, just tightness. And that’s about it.

I’m so much more comfortable with myself. I feel so much more like a woman than I did before. I just– I love it. It’s absolutely great.
